BOOT
SCOOTIN’ BOOGIE (AIHR O-4775, HOA-1550, SMR-3818, SSMA
eligible) is a red roan dun appaloosa. He
has a star, dorsal stripe though his blanket, and he has zebra stripes down his
forelegs and neck. Scooter was born
in 2006, the first appaloosa stud colt, by
Rowdy
Yates, the famous stallion from Karma Farms with an SMR Grand Conquistdor,
AIHR Hall of Fame, a Sire of Champions, an AIHR National Show Champion, and a
NATRC Trail Champion. Scooter is out of Choctaw Sunflower (his link to the
Appaloosa color gene of Choctaw
Sundance).
He was broke to ride in 2008 and he is preparing for a show career in
2009. He will be used as our herd
stallion this Spring (2009) and we are excited about seeing his offspring in
2010.
SHARON’S ROSE OF TEXAS (AIHR O-3079, HOA-1387, SSMA-1822) is a red roan Medicine Hat mare foaled in 1995 by Geronimo-Monroe (Wilbur Cruce - a ranch strain) out of Sharon's Lonesome. Rose is half Wilbur Cruce and also has genetic ties to Cheyenne lines. Her career as a broodmare was expanded when she was broke to ride at 9 years old. In 2007 she won an Overall Championship for the FIHC Southeast Regional show and obtained her AIHR Hall of Fame. In 2008, Rosie and Julie Nowaczck won the Overall National Champion at the National AIHR/HOA show in Texas. In 2009, Rosie will collect her AIHR Supreme Hall of Fame and is working on her points for HOA. At the Regional Show this year, Julie and Rosie did very well with Champion Type O and High Point Jr. Rider. Rosie is giving lessons, even to my mom, in the new round pen. She's a great asset to the farm.
TAOS TASCOSA (AIHR O-4488, HOA-1573, SMR-3135) is out of Delicada (SMR) and by Taos (SMR). She is 53% Cerbat, a rare strain of Colonial Spanish Horses. She is a red dun with a small star and a dorsal stripe with black points. She was foaled in 2002 and her show career has started full time in 2009. She is used as a Hunter and is shown in Western and Games. She is late in years winning in the arena, but we have high hopes for her. Affectionately known as “Taco”, she received her AIHR Hall of Fame Award in 2008 in Texas and is working on points for HOA. Tascosa is also a great lesson horse and is working hard at the farm.
FANCY LADY (SSMA-2150) is 100% Wilbur Cruce lineage. She is by Arivaca and out of Shady Lady. She was foaled in 1998, and by Spanish Colonial standards she is quite tall at 15 hands. Fancy serves as a brood mare for DCF Farm, and she passes this trait onto her offspring, as you can definitely see in her 2005 filly, DCF Little Raining Dream and her 2007 colt, He’s a Fancy Smudge. You will see pictures of them later in the list.
VENADITA (SMR-2463) is out of Calexico (SMR) and by Silver Hawk (SMR). She is a red dun with cobwebbing on the forehead, leg barring, and a dark spot above the right knee. She is our smallest mare, standing nearly 12 hands, and was foaled in 1996. We have two fillies that were born in 2005 and 2007 out of her. You will see pictures of them later in the list.
DCF LITTLE
RAINING DREAM
(AIHR
O-4773, HOA-1575, SSMA eligible) is by Rain Dancer (SMR, SSMA) and out of Fancy
Lady (SSMA) one of our broodmares. She is a December, 2005 filly born at our
farm and had a good start on groundwork the first few years of her life. Dreamer
was broke to ride in 2008 and has been shown Western and English.
She participated at the 2008 AIHR National Show in the Green Horse
Division. She is starting over
crossrails this year and her value is impossible to explain.
DCF
REBA’S DUN IT
(AIHR-eligible, HOA-eligible, SMR-eligible) is by Rain Dancer (SMR, SSMA) and
out of Venedita (SMR). Reba is also
foaled in December, 2005 at our farm and she was trained on the ground along
with the other two foals. She was
broke to ride in 2008 and is basically green broke.
She will begin her show schedule in Western, English and Games in 2009.
DCF DANCING SMOKE (AIHR-4772, HOA-eligible, SMR-eligible) is by Dancing
Jaguar (AIHR, HOA, SMR, SSMA) and out of Venedita (SMR).
Smoke was foaled April 29, 2007 and is halter broke, leads, works on the
lunge line and will stand tied.
DCF
Dancing Smoke is a grey dun with a dorsal stripe.
DCF
I’M A FANCY SMUDGE
(AIHR O-4771, HOA eligible, SSMA eligible) is by Dancing Jaguar (AIHR, HOA, SMR,
SSMA) and out of Fancy Lady (SSMA). Smudge
was born May 17, 2007 and is halter broke, leads, works on the lunge line and
will stand tied.
DCF
I’m a Fancy Smudge is a dark chestnut stallion with grey markings coming in
through his base color. Dancing
Jaguar carried the grey gene and is being seen in all of the 2007 foals.
He will begin ground training this summer and will be a terrific horse to ride.
DCF
WACHEE’S MAGIC ACT
(AIHR-AA4774) is by Dancing Jaguar (AIHR “O”, HOA, SSMA, SMR) and out of
Wachee’s Classy Act (AQHA). She
was born April 15, 2005 and was returned to us for training at age of three.
Magic halters, leads, trims, works with farrier and lunges.
She was started under saddle during the summer of 2008 and rides well.
She is broke to ride Western and English; she is light, responsive and athletic.
Wachee’s
Magic Act is a buckskin filly with a white heel on the back left foot; she
should mature to at least 14.3 hands.
DCF
SAVING GRACE (AIHR
AA-4777) is by Dancing Jaguar (AIHR, HOA, SMR, SSMA) and out of a chestnut
thoroughbred mare. Gracie was born
July 20, 2007 and is halter broke, leads, works on the lunge line and will stand
tied. She is half Colonial Spanish. When
born, DCF Saving Grace was a chestnut blanket appaloosa.
After a month, she turned grey with dark spots over most of her rear end
and over her body. Dancing Jaguar carried the grey gene and is being seen in all
of the 2007 foals.
DANCING
JAGUAR (AIHR "O", SMR,
SSMA, HOA) a 1999 gray appaloosa stallion — by El
Tigre Segundo out of Choctaw Moon Dance (Choctaw
Sun Dance / Wild Heaven). He has a gentle demeanor with a very laid back attitude; he carries the
Choctaw Sun Dance magic color gene on a body mass more like his sire El Tigre.
His dam is deceased, so this cross can never be repeated. Jag was born a bay
appaloosa with a blanket and spots; overtime, he has become a flea-bitten gray.
In 2004 he won Grand Champion at Halter, Reserve Performance and Reserve Overall
Championships for his division at the FIHC Southeast Regional show. He was not
shown in 2005. This horse has been gelded and sold in Texas.
He is the sire for three of our foals born in 2007, and he is shown in
this section so you can see the stallion that produced the foals for sale.
